I signed up as an Amazon.com Associate in late 2002 and began actively advertising them in 2003. I turned a steady profit from the beginning.
The referral fees I earn through Amazon.com cover my basic business expenses: hosting costs, software, office equipment and supplies.
I mainly list books and I don't use Amazon on all of my websites, but this program has proved to be a sturdy, reliable, though modest, source of income.
Amazon manages their own affiliate program...they provide all the necessary tools, resources and tracking information.
Amazon seems to work out best for associates who are willing to take the time to carefully select niche products and to write reviews on their websites.
