My husband wanted a “Dr. Who” scarf. Sorta. The actual Dr. Who scarf is somewhat ridiculous…17 feet long or something…more than long enough to hitch horses to carts and to get tangled in your feet while walking or attempting to step on the brake in the car.
I actually had no idea what a Dr. Who scarf looked like at all. I’d never seen the show or any photos and had only Rob’s interesting descriptions to go by. I just started knitting. Halfway through the project I looked at some photos from the show and was surprised to see how much my striped pattern resembles the actual scarf.
I think he really likes the scarf. Since I gave it to him a few days ago, the only time I’ve seen him not wearing it is in the shower and in bed at night.
Pattern: Simple garter stitch on size 10 needles. Cast on 40, I think, but I don’t remember for sure. Some multiple of four that looked wide enough.
