A pair of yellow knitted leglets with extended ribbing which can be cuffed or worn as a half-sock

I made this pair of leglets with extended ribbing because I wasn’t satisfied with the fit of my first pair of leglets. I made the ribbing long enough that I can wear it as a half-sock. I think I might prefer it folded into a cuff. These are soft and comfy and they certainly keep my ankles warm. The extended ribbing does what I wanted it to do. Whether folded or extended, it keeps the leglets anchored down below my ankle.

I made this pair out of Caron Simply Soft Soft Yellow yarn.

Yellow leglets with the ribbed cuffed completely unfolded

I like the fit and drape of the ribbed portion more than the stockinette section. I think I’ll try the crotchless leggings in rib knit on bigger needles with more ribs. These ribs seem a bit loosely stretched to me.

The pattern

Using size 6 double-pointed needles, cast on 48 stitches. Spread the stitches onto three needles with twisting. I put 16 stitches on each needle ’cause I like these things to work out neatly.

Knit two, purl two for nine inches.

Knit for eleven inches.

Knit two, purl two for about an inch. I did eight rows.

Bind off loosely.
