I love the Gaga. I rock out at ridiculously loud volumes in my car and office. You would think I was 15 instead of...how old I am :)

Your puppies are impossibly cute! If you have the ability, I highly recommend a dog door. It took ours a little while to get used to the idea but it saves on the up and down, up and down all day long. Now they go shooting out after each other for a throwdown in the yard. It's awesome.

The footnotes aren't as tricky as they look. I usually write them as I go along, so it's not too difficult to keep them in order. The footnotes themselves are in an ordered list, so I just have to make sure my superscript numbers match up.

This means I actually proof-read now, which I hardly ever used to do.

Puppies definitely keep you warm! Especially Saturday mornings in the bed with the dogs. It's my favorite thing about Saturday. I can't wait to see pictures of the pups.

BTW...I love your footnotes. I am not nearly clever enough to make it work on my blog, but it's pretty cool on yours.

I know. Favorite Guy has a Mac laptop that he pretty much uses as only a Windows machine.

I'm frequently overtaxing the system I have and virtual machines don't seem like they'd help with that problem. Way too much multi-tasking and too many open apps.

I actually find Macs really frustrating to use...all that "intuitive" stuff isn't the least bit intuitive to me. It's irritating...all that stuff rolling and gyroscoping around.

I think I first started distrusting Apple systems back in the day when an eject button for the floppy drive was essential because sometimes stupid 'puters just started reading them forever, and Apple 'puters didn't have on...just a stupid hole you could stick a paperclip in.

Deep down, I haven't changed that much since I started working with computers back in the early 80s. I don't trust the magic behind the glittering user interface. I like to be able to troubleshoot and debug things myself.

But really, I just don't want to spend the time learning a new OS. I find technology swaps to be really challenging. I hate changing my phone or my computer. I rely (probably way too much) on these tools as extensions of my brain and I find it insanely challenging to incorporate major changes, so I just don't do it unless it's absolutely necessary.

You don't have to buy all new software - I run my windows-based accounting software in a virtual machine that runs Windows XP. But I'm not going to tell you to buy a Mac!
