Carly Comando

(scribed in the listening chapter because it seemed like a good idea at the time)

I’ve been kinda lazy about posting with regards to music. Dunno why, I hardly ever stop listening or playing. (more…)

Yes, Virginia…I’m listening to the new Dresden Dolls album

(scribed in the listening chapter because it seemed like a good idea at the time)

I have a friend who works at a radio station and he shared Yes, Virginia… with me.  I jumped at the chance to hear it now instead of waiting another week.

I get squirmy pants…I’m not very good at patience. (more…)

Half Jack

(scribed in the listening chapter because it seemed like a good idea at the time)

I only discovered The Dresden Dolls about five hours ago and I’m completely obsessed.

Muse Music

(scribed in the listening chapter because it seemed like a good idea at the time)

The last few weeks have likely been the most prolific writing period of my life. I’ve written 40 poems in February so far. I wrote 11 in one day, which was beyond exhausting. I require music to sustain muse space for this long. Thought I’d share just what I’ve been listening to while writing. Mostly I listen to one song at a time, set to repeat track.

Remember When

(scribed in the 42, listening chapter because it seemed like a good idea at the time)

I’m no fan of country music. There are only four or five country songs that I actually like, but that may be due in part to the fact that I only listen to country music by accident or when I can’t avoid it.

Under Ice

(scribed in the listening chapter because it seemed like a good idea at the time)

I can only take Kate Bush in small doses. I still can’t say whether or not I like her music, but I continue to listen trying to figure it out. This has been going on since 1989.

Everytime We Touch

(scribed in the listening chapter because it seemed like a good idea at the time)

Everytime We Touch by Cascada is a dangerous song for me to listen to because I must dance.

Confessions on a Dance Floor

(scribed in the listening chapter because it seemed like a good idea at the time)

Confessioins on a Dance Floor is the first Madonna album I’ve really been into since Like a Prayer. Not too surprising actually, I was in the midst of my last prolific poetry explosion when Like a Prayer was released and I’m living a life that looks an awful lot like my college days.

Little Earthquakes

(scribed in the listening chapter because it seemed like a good idea at the time)

A friend lent me Little Earthquakes by Tori Amos.

I’ve been listening to “Crucify” obsessively, especially last night when I stayed up past one writing poetry.

Poem Adept strikes again!!

(scribed in the listening chapter because it seemed like a good idea at the time)

When I saw Peter and Davy in Phoenix, Peter sang this brilliant song. I wanted it so badly, but it wasn’t on the album (which I already had) and it wasn’t on the website.

Well, it’s on the website now. I think it’s his best song and that’s saying a lot considering how much I’ve listened to Able Glass Note (several hundred times).
