The last few weeks have likely been the most prolific writing period of my life. I’ve written 40 poems in February so far. I wrote 11 in one day, which was beyond exhausting. I require music to sustain muse space for this long. Thought I’d share just what I’ve been listening to while writing. Mostly I listen to one song at a time, set to repeat track.

I’m no fan of country music. There are only four or five country songs that I actually like, but that may be due in part to the fact that I only listen to country music by accident or when I can’t avoid it.

I can only take Kate Bush in small doses. I still can’t say whether or not I like her music, but I continue to listen trying to figure it out. This has been going on since 1989.

Confessioins on a Dance Floor is the first Madonna album I’ve really been into since Like a Prayer. Not too surprising actually, I was in the midst of my last prolific poetry explosion when Like a Prayer was released and I’m living a life that looks an awful lot like my college days.

When I saw Peter and Davy in Phoenix, Peter sang this brilliant song. I wanted it so badly, but it wasn’t on the album (which I already had) and it wasn’t on the website.
Well, it’s on the website now. I think it’s his best song and that’s saying a lot considering how much I’ve listened to Able Glass Note (several hundred times).
