‘kay, I feel like this is a completely trivial and worthless blog post, but this new laptop makes me happy, even in the face of all the environmental costs of luxuries like laptops, so I want to do a little happy dance in front of you.
I’m like way beyond excited about my new MSI Wind mini notebook. It hasn’t arrived yet, so I’m totally caught up in the euphoria of anticipation. This is good, actually, as my feelings about computers haven’t been completely positive lately. A couple of weeks ago my desktop computer spontaneously lost the ability to recognize the hard drive and then my laptop started overheating and shutting down every ten minutes when I switched to that.
Yeah, I had two computers and they both failed (poor me), but since I’m a web designer and developer in the mundane world (the one where money is required to buy food), those computers were mission critical for me and they both collapsed.
Hence the need for a new laptop (I got the desktop system repaired and upgraded to Vista which I LOVE LOVE LOVE).
So I decided to buy an MSI Wind and the version with the six cell battery just came out in the middle of last week and I ordered it the very next day in the only available color- pink!!!! Not exactly sure how I feel about the pink, so I’m embracing it and appreciating the large-scale giddy that comes along with it.
This is the real me, btw. Yeah, I’m a dramatic poet artist visionary person, but technological, geeky gadgets turn me on and a mini laptop (which I’ve been longing for since before they even existed) definitely qualifies as a turn on.
Lots of things make me happy, and this is one of them!
